| １４ところが、ヨハネは、それを思いとどまらせようとして言った。「わたしこそ、あなたから洗礼を受けるべきなのに、あなたが、わたしのところへ来られたのですか」。 [14] | 14 Jean voulut s’y opposer : « C’est moi, disait-il, qui ai besoin d’être baptisé par toi, et c’est toi qui viens à moi ! » | 14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me ? |
| １５しかし、イエスはお答えになった。「今は、止めないでほしい。正しいことをすべて行なうのは、我々にふさわしいことです。」そこで、ヨハネはイエスの言われるとおりにした。 [15] | 15 Mais Jésus lui répliqua : « Laisse faire maintenant : c’est ainsi qu’il nous convient d’accomplir toute justice. » Alors, il le laisse faire. | 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now : for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. | １６イエスは洗礼を受けると、すぐ水の中から上がられた。そのとき、天がイエスに向かって開いた。イエスは、神の霊が鳩のように御自分の上に降って来るのを御覧になった。 [16] | 16 Dès qu’il fut baptisé, Jésus sortit de l’eau. Matthieu 5,13-16
| １３「あなたがては地の塩である。だが、塩に塩気がなくなれば、その塩は何によって塩味が付けられよう。もはや、何の役にも立たず、外に投げ捨てられ、人々に踏みつけられるだけである。 [30] | 13 Ye are the salt of the earth : but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted ? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. | 13 « Vous êtes le sel de la terre. Si le sel perd sa saveur, comment redeviendra-t-il du sel ? Il ne vaut plus rien ; on le jette dehors et il est foulé aux pieds par les hommes. |

| ２９もし、右の目があなたをつまずかせるなら、えぐり出して捨ててしまいなさい。体の一部がなくなっても、全身が地獄に投げ込まれない方がましである。 [36] | . 29 « Si ton oeil droit entraîne ta chute, arrache-le et jette-le loin de toi : car il est préférable pour toi que périsse un seul de tes membres et que ton corps tout entier ne soit pas jeté dans la géhenne. | 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee : for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. offend... : or, do cause thee to offend |
| ３０もし、右の手があなたがをつまずかせるなら、切り取って捨ててしまいなさい。体の一部がなくなっても、全身が地獄に落ちない方がましである。」 [37] | 30 Et si ta main droite entraîne ta chute, coupe-la et jette-la loin de toi : car il est préférable pour toi que périsse un seul de tes membres et que ton corps tout entier ne s’en aille pas dans la géhenne. | 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee : for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. |
| ３１ 「『妻を離縁する者は、離縁状を渡せ』と命じられている。 [38] | 31 « D’autre part il a été dit : Si quelqu’un répudie sa femme, qu’il lui remette un certificat de répudiation. | 31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement : |
| ３２しかし、わたしは言っておく。不法な結婚でもないのに妻を離縁する者だれでも、その女に姦通の罪を犯させることになる。離縁するされた女を妻にする者も、姦通の罪を犯すことになる。」 [39] | 32 Et moi, je vous dis : quiconque répudie sa femme - sauf en cas d’union illégale - la pousse à l’adultère ; et si quelqu’un épouse une répudiée, il est adultère. | 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery : and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. |

| ４７自分の兄弟にだけ挨拶したところで、どんな優れたことをしたことになろうか。異邦人でさえ、同じことをしているではないか。 [44] | 47 Et si vous saluez seulement vos frères, que faites-vous d’extraordinaire ? Les païens n’en font-ils pas autant ? | 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others ? do not even the publicans so ? |
| ４８ だから、あなたがたの天の父が完全であられるように、 あなたがたも完全な者となりなさい。」 [45] | 48 Vous donc, vous serez parfaits comme votre Père céleste est parfait. | 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. |
