| Chères soeurs, en ce jour fête de Tite et Timothé (26/1/2010), nous entendons Jésus dire à ses envoyés : | Dear sisters, today, feast of saint Tite and saint Timothy (2010/1/26), we have just heard Jesus telling his disciples : |
| “Je vous envoie comme des agneaux au milieu des loups” | « I send you like lambs among wolves ». |
| Qu’est-ce à dire ? | What does this mean ? |
| Je dirais que Jésus, l’Agneau de Dieu, envoie d’anciens loups, après les avoir convertis en agneaux. | I would say Jesus, the Lamb of God, is sending former wolves he has converted into lambs. |
| Afin qu’eux aussi convertissent les loups en agneaux – au risque d’être déchirés par eux. | So that they too convert wolves into lambs – risking being torn apart by them in the process. |
| Mais, question fondamentale, quel intérêt y a-t-il à passer du statut de loup à celui d’agneau ? | But there lies a basic question : what is the interest for a wolf to become a lamb ? |
| Ca dépend de la façon dont l’on voit l’existence d’un loup et celle d’un agneau. | It depends upon the way you consider the life of a wolf and the life of a lamb. |
| Pour moi, l’homme (la femme) au cœur de loup a faim – et même quand il (elle) vient de manger, il(elle) a encore faim. | According to me, the man with the heart of a wolf is hungry – even when he (she) has just finished eating. |
| Parce que quand il (elle) mange, il (elle) a peur de ne pas trouver une proie le lendemain. Quand il (elle) mange, il (elle) mange vite – il (elle) dévore – parce qu’il (elle) a peur qu’un autre loup vienne lui prendre sa part. | Because during his (her) eating, he (she) is afraid of not catching a prey tomorrow. When he (she) is eating, he (she) eats fast – he (she) gulps down – because he (she) is afraid that another wolf would come and take his (her) part. |
| Pour moi, l’homme (la femme) au cœur de loup a froid. Il (elle) a froid parce qu’il (elle) est seul(e), et qu’il (elle) n’a personne pour le réchauffer la nuit. Et quand il (elle) dort, il (elle) a un sommeil (elle) agité : parce qu’il (elle) a peur qu’un loup l’attaque, parce qu’il (elle) rêve que sa proie lui échappe, ou qu’elle lui résiste, ou qu’un autre loup est en train de la lui dérober. | According to me, the man (the woman) with the heart of a wolf feels cold, because he (she) is alone and he (she) has nobody to warm him (her) at night. And when he (she) sleeps, his (her) sleep is restless : because he (she) is afraid another wolf will attack him (her), because he (she) is dreaming that his (her) prey is escaping or is resisting him (her), or another wolf is stealing it. |
| Pour moi, l’homme (la femme) au cœur de loup a peur – peur de la violence, cette violence qu’il (elle) exerce en déchirant, en mordant, en griffant. Peur qu’un jour cette même violence soit exercée sur lui (elle) – par d’autres loups. | According to me, the man (the woman) with the heart of a wolf is full of fear – the fear of the violence he (she) is unleashing by tearing, biting, clawing. The fear that someday this very violence would be unleashed on him (her) – by other wolfs. |
| Voilà pourquoi je vois l’homme (la femme) au cœur de loup comme quelqu’un qui court en tous sens, recouvert de sueur et hurlant de peur et de colère. | That is why I see the man (the woman) with the heart of a wolf running in all directions, sweating all the way and howling with fear and anger. |
| Je ne trouve pas cette existence particulièrement désirable. | This kind of life is not that attracting. |
| L’homme (la femme) au cœur d’agneau. | The man (the woman) with the heart of a lamb. |
| Il (elle) a rencontré celui qui sait apaiser son cœur de loup apeuré et en colère, il (elle) a rencontré celui qui lui a laissé sa paix, celui qui lui a donné sa paix. Celui qui vient de celui que nous appelons Dieu et qui retourne à Dieu. | He (she) has met the one who knows how to assuage the heart of a wolf which feels cold, hunger, fear and anger. The one who has let his peace, who has givne his peace. The one who comes from the one we call God and who returns to God. |
| L’homme (la femme) au cœur d’agneau n’a plus peur. | The man (the woman) with the heart of a lamb is no longer afraid. |
| L’homme (la femme) au cœur d’agneau n’a pas faim, parce que son maître le (la) conduit sur des près d’herbe fraîche, près du ruisseau qui donne une eau limpide et pure. | The man (the woman) with the heart of a lamb is no longer hungry, because his master leads him (her) to meadows with green grass, near the river and its fresh and clear water. |
| L’homme (la femme) au cœur d’agneau n’a pas froid. La nuit, il (elle) dort près de ses ami(e)s, et ils se tiennent chaud. Il (elle) dort en paix. Son maître veille. | The man (the woman) with the heart of a lamb does not feel cold. At night he (she) sleeps near his (her) companions and they keep warm together. He (she) sleeps peacefully. His (her) master is watching. |
| Ma conclusion. | My conclusion. |
| Le Christ ne nous dit qu’une seule chose depuis le commencement de son ministère public : « convertissez-vous, le Règne de Dieu est proche ». | Christ is telling us only one thing from the very beginning : “convert yourself, God’s kingdom is approaching”. |
| Convertissez votre cœur de loup en cœur d’agneau. | Convert your heart from the one of a wolf to the one of a lamb. |
| Voyez par vous-même comme il est doux de devenir un agneau, et combien il est triste de rester un loup : regardez l’Agneau de Dieu. | See by yourself how sweet it is to become a lamb, and how woeful it is to remain a wolf : see the Lamb of God. |
