There is an African maxim saying that « A falling tree makes more noise than a growing forest ».
The wicked man makes a lot of noise, he goes on a rampage, he shouts, he breaks everything, but in the end nothing shall remain from him and his work : the earth will heal, the songs will be heard again, and the noisy guy will be forgotten.
The wicked man knows very well that he will lose in the end and that is why he makes so much noise : he wants to monopolize our attention and prevent us from seeing his inevitable defeat.
Because the defeat of evil is written at the very beginning of the Bible : the world has been created good fundamentally by God. Evil arises afterwards, it can soil and damage good, but it cannot destroy it.
Evil is programmed for defeat : the enemy can only ape the master, he can act only when hidden in darkness, and what he sows has only a power of nuisance and cannot bring life, joy, happiness.
Evil needs good to exist, good does not need evil to exist, that is why evil wins battles but not war. It knows it and it makes it mad.
Today’s Gospel [3] teaches us another lesson : we can judge the outward acts of a man but not what goes inside his heart. As with the tares and the wheat, the roots of good and evil are so tangled in the heart of man that only God can untangle them.
So let’s not praise men too quickly in view of their works and their speeches, otherwise we risk becoming disillusioned when the news reveals their hidden gray areas. Conversely, let us not utter final condemnations while forgetting the power of conversion of the Risen One : it transformed a staunch persecutor of the Church, Paul, into one of its most eminent apostles.
The external judgment belongs to us, but the internal one belongs to God.
Je conclus. My conclusion.
My friends, there is a standard rising with a cross on it. The General-in-Chief Christ is calling to join him. The world has not yet expressed all the goodness that God put in it, and the enemy is still fighting a rearguard fight so :
Debout donc ! [5] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness ; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace ; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God [6]

Matthieu 13,24-43

Matthew 13 :24-33

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field : 24 Il leur proposa une autre parabole : « Il en va du Royaume des cieux comme d’un homme qui a semé du bon grain dans son champ. »
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. . 26 Quand l’herbe eut poussé et produit l’épi, alors apparut aussi l’ivraie.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field ? from whence then hath it tares ?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up ? 28 Il leur dit : ‹C’est un ennemi qui a fait cela.› Les serviteurs lui disent : ‹Alors, veux-tu que nous allions la ramasser ?› -
29 But he said, Nay ; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest : and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them : but gather the wheat into my barn.
31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field : 31 Il leur proposa une autre parabole : « Le Royaume des cieux est comparable à un grain de moutarde qu’un homme prend et sème dans son champ.
32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds : but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
33 Another parable spake he unto them ; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables ; and without a parable spake he not unto them : 4 Tout cela, Jésus le dit aux foules en paraboles, et il ne leur disait rien sans paraboles,
35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables ; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house : and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. »
37イエスはお答えになった。「良い種を蒔く者は人の子、 37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man ; 37 Il leur répondit : « Celui qui sème le bon grain, c’est le Fils de l’homme ;
38畑は世界、良い種は御国の子ら、毒麦は悪い者の子らである、 38 The field is the world ; the good seed are the children of the kingdom ; but the tares are the children of the wicked one ; 38 le champ, c’est le monde ; le bon grain, ce sont les sujets du Royaume ; l’ivraie, ce sont les sujets du Malin ;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil ; the harvest is the end of the world ; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire ; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity ; things...
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire : there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear 43 Alors les justes resplendiront comme le soleil dans le Royaume de leur Père. Entende qui a des oreilles !
