Voir Matthieu 13, 1-23 - Matthew 13 : 1-23

Aujourd’hui [1], l’Évangile de Matthieu compare celui qui ne comprend pas à celui qui comprend. Matthieu précise qu’il s’agit de comprendre la parole « du Royaume ». Today [2], the Gospel of Matthew compares the one who does not understand and the one who understands. Matthew specifies that it is the word of the Kingdom which is to be understood.
Cette parole tient en quelques mots : « Le Royaume de Dieu est proche ». This word can be put in a nutshell : « The Kingdom of God is near ».
Jean le Baptiste l’avait déjà prononcée, mais quand Jésus la prononce, il la réalise en même temps : le Royaume de Dieu se réalise dans et à partir lui, l’envoyé plénipotentiaire de Dieu. John the Baptist already uttered it but when Jesus pronounces it, he realizes it in the process : the Kingdom of God is realized in and from God’s plenipotentiary envoy.
L’Évangile compare cette parole énigmatique à une graine. Cette graine puissante plongera ses racines jusqu’au centre de la terre, jusqu’au centre de notre cœur, si on la laisse faire ; son tronc atteindra le ciel et ses fruits alimenteront l’univers entier, si on la laisse faire. The Gospel compares this enigmatic to a seed. This powerful seed will sink its roots deep to the core of the earth, to the center of our hearts, il allowed so ; its trunk will reach the sky and its fruits will feed the entire universe, if allowed so.
Mais il y a en nous des couches dures qui ne se laissent pas traverser par les racines de la graine. J’en repère personnellement une aussi dure et imperméable que l’asphalte, la couche du manque de confiance. Some hard layers in us do not let the roots of the seed cross through them. I personally spot one as hard and impervious as asphalt, I mean the layer of insufficient faith.
Je n’ai pas assez confiance en la puissance de conversion de la Parole du Royaume, je ne fais pas assez confiance en Celui qui me promet le bonheur. I do not put enough trust in the conveting power of the world of the Kingdom, I do not trust enough the One who promises me happiness
Je suis comme cet enfant agrippé au rebord de la piscine. En même temps, il a bien envie de lâcher, il voit bien ses grands frères et sœurs qui nagent là où ils n’ont pas pied et qui l’appellent : « Viens, confiance, tu sais nager, et même si tu bois la tasse au début, le maître-nageur est là, on est là pour te rattraper ». I am like this child clinging to the edge of the swimming pool. He would like to let go, he can see his big brothers and sisters swimming where they have no footing and who call him : « Come on, be confident, even if you drink the cup at the start, the life-guard is here to catch you up, and so are we ».
Concluons. Let us conclude.
Comprendre la Parole du Royaume demande du temps, comme il faut du temps pour qu’une graine pousse. Et il ne suffit pas de voir en esprit ce qu’elle signifie, il y a à l’inscrire dans la vie, à lui donner corps. It takes time to understand the word of the Kingdom just like it takes time for a seed to grow. And seeing its meaning in mind is not sufficient, we have is to give it substance in our life.
Augustin disait qu’on pouvait voir au loin sur la mer une terre paradisiaque avec tous ses détails : le sol de pierres précieuses, la végétation, les oiseaux multicolores, les maisons et leurs habitants, les chants , les danses et les rires. Mais il s’agit de s’y rendre, et non pas se contenter de la voir de loin. Augustine said that we could see in the distance on the sea a paradisiacal land in all its details : the soil paved with precious stones, the vegetation, the birds of all colours, the houses and their inhabitants, the singings and rejoicing and dancing. But we are not content with seeing it from afar, we want to get there and be part of it.
Alors il faut s’associer avec d’autres pour traverser la mer sur un bateau. So we have to join together to cross the sea on a boat.
Du temps d’Augustin, les bateaux étaient en bois et pour Augustin, il n’y avait qu’un seul bois permettant de franchir la mer : le bois de la croix. In Augustine’s time, boats were made of wood and for Augustine only one wood was able to cross the sea : the wood of the cross.

Matthieu 13,1-23 - Matthew 13:1-23

その日、イエスは家を出て、湖のほとりに座っておられた。 En ce jour-là, Jésus sortit de la maison et s’assit au bord de la mer. The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
すると、大勢の群衆がそばに集まって来たので、イエスは舟に乗って腰を下ろされた。群衆は皆岸辺に立っていた。 2 De grandes foules se rassemblèrent près de lui, si bien qu’il monta dans une barque où il s’assit ; toute la foule se tenait sur le rivage. 2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat ; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
イエスはたとえを用いて彼らに多くのことを語られた。「種を蒔く人が種蒔きに出て行った。 3 Il leur dit beaucoup de choses en paraboles. « Voici que le semeur est sorti pour semer. 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow ;
蒔いている間に、ある種は道端に落ち、鳥が来て食べてしまった。 4 Comme il semait, des grains sont tombés au bord du chemin ; et les oiseaux du ciel sont venus et ont tout mangé. 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up :
ほかの種は、石だらけで土の少ない所に落ち、そこは土が浅いのですぐ芽を出した。 5 D’autres sont tombés dans les endroits pierreux, où ils n’avaient pas beaucoup de terre ; ils ont aussitôt levé parce qu’ils n’avaient pas de terre en profondeur ; 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth : and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth :
しかし、日が昇ると焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。 6 le soleil étant monté, ils ont été brûlés et, faute de racine, ils ont séché. 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched ; and because they had no root, they withered away.
ほかの種は茨の間に落ち、茨が伸びてそれをふさいでしまった。 7 D’autres sont tombés dans les épines ; les épines ont monté et les ont étouffés. 7 And some fell among thorns ; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them :
ところが、ほかの種は、良い土地に落ち、実を結んで、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍にもなった。 8 D’autres sont tombés dans la bonne terre et ont donné du fruit, l’un cent, l’autre soixante, l’autre trente. 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
耳のある者は聞きなさい。」 9 Entende qui a des oreilles ! » 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
弟子たちはイエスに近寄って、「なぜ、あの人たちにはたとえを用いてお話しになるのですか」と言った。 10 Les disciples s’approchèrent et lui dirent : « Pourquoi leur parles-tu en paraboles ? » 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables ?
イエスはお答えになった。「あなたがたには天の国の秘密を悟ることが許されているが、あの人たちには許されていないからである。 11 Il répondit : « Parce qu’à vous il est donné de connaître les mystères du Royaume des cieux, tandis qu’à ceux-là ce n’est pas donné. 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
持っている人は更に与えられて豊かになるが、持っていない人は持っているものまでも取り上げられる。 12 Car à celui qui a, il sera donné, et il sera dans la surabondance ; mais à celui qui n’a pas, même ce qu’il a lui sera retiré. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance : but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
だから、彼らにはたとえを用いて話すのだ。見ても見ず、聞いても聞かず、理解できないからである。 13 Voici pourquoi je leur parle en paraboles : parce qu’ils regardent sans regarder et qu’ils entendent sans entendre ni comprendre ; 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables : because they seeing see not ; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
イザヤの預言は、彼らによって実現した。『あなたたちは聞くには聞くが、決して理解せず、／見るには見るが、決して認めない。 14 et pour eux s’accomplit la prophétie d’Esaïe, qui dit : Vous aurez beau entendre, vous ne comprendrez pas ; vous aurez beau regarder, vous ne verrez pas. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand ; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive :
この民の心は鈍り、／耳は遠くなり、／目は閉じてしまった。こうして、彼らは目で見ることなく、／耳で聞くことなく、／心で理解せず、悔い改めない。わたしは彼らをいやさない。』 15 Car le cœur de ce peuple s’est épaissi, ils sont devenus durs d’oreille, ils se sont bouché les yeux, pour ne pas voir de leurs yeux, ne pas entendre de leurs oreilles, ne pas comprendre avec leur cœur, et pour ne pas se convertir. Et je les aurais guéris ! 15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed ; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
しかし、あなたがたの目は見ているから幸いだ。あなたがたの耳は聞いているから幸いだ。 16 « Mais vous, heureux vos yeux parce qu’ils voient, et vos oreilles parce qu’elles entendent. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see : and your ears, for they hear.
はっきり言っておく。多くの預言者や正しい人たちは、あなたがたが見ているものを見たかったが、見ることができず、あなたがたが聞いているものを聞きたかったが、聞けなかったのである。」 17 En vérité, je vous le déclare, beaucoup de prophètes, beaucoup de justes ont désiré voir ce que vous voyez et ne l’ont pas vu, entendre ce que vous entendez et ne l’ont pas entendu. 17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them ; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
「だから、種を蒔く人のたとえを聞きなさい。 18 « Vous donc, écoutez la parabole du semeur. 18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
だれでも御国の言葉を聞いて悟らなければ、悪い者が来て、心の中に蒔かれたものを奪い取る。道端に蒔かれたものとは、こういう人である。 19 Quand l’homme entend la parole du Royaume et ne comprend pas, c’est que le Malin vient et s’empare de ce qui a été semé dans son cœur ; tel est celui qui a été ensemencé au bord du chemin. 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
石だらけの所に蒔かれたものとは、御言葉を聞いて、すぐ喜んで受け入れるが、 20 Celui qui a été ensemencé en des endroits pierreux, c’est celui qui, entendant la Parole, la reçoit aussitôt avec joie ; 20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it ;
自分には根がないので、しばらくは続いても、御言葉のために艱難や迫害が起こると、すぐにつまずいてしまう人である。 21 mais il n’a pas en lui de racine, il est l’homme d’un moment : dès que vient la détresse ou la persécution à cause de la Parole, il tombe. 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while : for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
茨の中に蒔かれたものとは、御言葉を聞くが、世の思い煩いや富の誘惑が御言葉を覆いふさいで、実らない人である。 22 Celui qui a été ensemencé dans les épines, c’est celui qui entend la Parole, mais le souci du monde et la séduction des richesses étouffent la Parole, et il reste sans fruit. 22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word ; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
良い土地に蒔かれたものとは、御言葉を聞いて悟る人であり、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍の実を結ぶのである。」 23 Celui qui a été ensemencé dans la bonne terre, c’est celui qui entend la Parole et comprend : alors, il porte du fruit et produit l’un cent, l’autre soixante, l’autre trente. » 23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it ; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
