| La présence de femmes dans la compagnie de Jésus était exceptionnelle pour l’époque [1]. En disant cela, nous entrons dans la question de la place de la femme dans la société, et plus fondamentalement la question des genres : qu’est-ce qu’être un homme, qu’est- ce qu’être une femme ? | The fact that women followed Jesus was exceptional for the time [2]. By saying this, we activate the question of the place of women in society, and more fundamentally the question of genders : what does it take to be a man or a woman ? |
| Les positions varient sur un continuum allant du tout biologique – 100 % inné – au tout sociologique – 100 % acquis. | Positions vary on a continuum ranging from all biological - 100% innate - to all sociological - 100% acquired. |
| les protagonistes disposent tous d’arguments imparables et ils ne comprennent pas qu’on puisse être en désaccord avec eux. | the protagonists all have unstoppable arguments and they do not understand that one can disagree with them. |

| Quand Jésus survient, quelque chose se passe, que j’appelle « l’effet Jésus » : Jésus ouvre une nouvelle perspective, il donne une dimension verticale à nos combats à vue trop courte. | When Jesus occurs, something happens, which I call the "Jesus effect" : Jesus opens a new perspective, he gives a vertical dimension to our too short-sighted struggles. |

| Une femme rencontre Jésus. Il la regarde. Il la voit dans le rôle qu’elle assume comme femme. Mais il la voit plus grande que cela, il la regarde d’un point de vue plus profond que cela. | A woman meets Jesus. He looks at her. He sees her in the role she takes on as a woman. But he sees her bigger than that, he looks at her from a deeper point of view than that. |
| Pour moi, quand Jésus rencontre une femme, il la voit dans sa singularité unique, qui dépasse sa simple appartenance à un genre. | According to me, when Jesus meets a woman, he sees her in her unique singularity, which goes beyond her mere belonging to a gender. |

Avec tout ce qui faisait que je me tapais la tête contre les murs et qui maintenant s’ordonne dans un dessein qui me dépasse et m’émerveille. | A presence that aspires me upwards.
