| Comme à son habitude, Jean nous fait évoluer dans le mystère intra-trinitaire [1] : Jésus continue l’œuvre de Dieu – opus Dei - œuvre de création et aussi, depuis la rupture de confiance d’Adam et Eve envers Dieu, œuvre de récréation, de réparation, de restauration. | As usual, John moves us into the intra-trinitarian mystery [2] : Jesus continues God’s work - opus Dei - work of creation and also, since Adam and Eve’s breach of trust with God, work of recreation, reparation, restoration. |
| Dieu veut que le handicap soit vaincu, et le Fils qui veut ce que veut le Père guérit le paralytique, et peu importe que ce soit un samedi – un jour de sabbat – ou non. | God wants the disability to be overcome, and the Son who wants what the Father wants heals the paralytic, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s a Saturday - a Sabbath day - or not. |
| Dieu veut que la mort soit vaincue, et le Fils qui veut ce que veut le Père, descend dans les profondeurs du monde des morts où il fait retentir la Bonne Nouvelle de la résurrection. | God wants death to be defeated, and the Son, who wants what the Father wants, descends into the depths of the world of the dead where he makes the Good News of the resurrection resound. |
| Dieu veut que la création soit libérée du mal, et le Fils qui veut ce que veut le Père, descend dans les profondeurs du cœur humain pour le purifier des œuvres de mort, des désirs de mort. | God wants creation to be free from evil, and the Son, who wants what the Father wants, descends into the depths of the human heart to purify it from the works of death, the desires of death |
| Mais pour pouvoir descendre à de telles profondeurs, le Fils doit transiter par l’agonie et la mort, cloué sur une croix par les hommes. | But in order to descend to such depths, the Son must pass through agony and death, nailed to a cross by men |
| Dans Jean, Jésus affirme : « je ne cherche pas ma propre volonté, mais la volonté de celui qui m’a envoyé ». | In John, Jesus says, "I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me. |
| Jésus a obéi à son Père tous les jours de sa vie mortelle, rencontrant certes l’admiration des foules et des disciples pour ses miracles et ses enseignements, mais sans qu’ils comprennent leur sens profond : l’appel à la conversion face au Royaume de Dieu qui vient maintenant. | Jesus obeyed his Father all the days of his mortal life, certainly meeting the admiration of the crowds and the disciples for his miracles and his teachings, but without them understanding their deepest meaning : the call to conversion in the face of the now-incoming Kingdom of God |
| Et Jésus devra obéir tout particulièrement à la veille de sa Passion : « Père, Abba [Père en araméen], que la coupe [du témoignage – « martyre » en grec - rendu au Père jusqu’au sang] s’éloigne de moi. Mais non pas ma volonté mais ta volonté » [3]. | And Jesus will have to obey especially on the eve of his Passion : "Father, Abba [Father in Aramaic] , let the cup [of the testimony - "martyrdom" in Greek - rendered to the Father to the point of blood] be removed from me. But not my will but your will" [4]. |
| Ma conclusion. Nous avons vu en quoi constituait l’Opus Dei du Verbe-fait-chair. Mais quelle est l’Opus Dei de ses disciples, c.à.d. nous ? | My conclusion. We have seen what was the Opus Dei of the World-Made-Flesh ? But what is the Opus Dei for his disciples, viz us ? |
| Notre Opus Dei, « c’est de croire en celui que le Père a envoyé. » [5]. | Our Opus Dei consists in “believing in the one sent by the Father. » [6]. |
| Fais, Seigneur, que je crois que le Père a un projet d’amour pour sa création, et que ce projet se réalise par son Fils, avec son Fils et en son Fils. | Lord, may I believe that the Father has a plan of love for his creation, and that this plan is realized through His Son, with His Son and in His Son |

| イエスはお答えになった。「わたしの父は今もなお働いておられる。だから、わたしも働くのだ。」 | 17 Mais Jésus leur répondit : « Mon Père, jusqu’à présent, est à l’œuvre et moi aussi je suis à l’œuvre. » | 17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. |
| このために、ユダヤ人たちは、ますますイエスを殺そうとねらうようになった。イエスが安息日を破るだけでなく、神を御自分の父と呼んで、御自身を神と等しい者とされたからである。 | 18 Dès lors, les Juifs n’en cherchaient que davantage à le faire périr, car non seulement il violait le sabbat, mais encore il appelait Dieu son propre Père, se faisant ainsi l’égal de Dieu. | 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. |
| そこで、イエスは彼らに言われた。「はっきり言っておく。子は、父のなさることを見なければ、自分からは何事もできない。父がなさることはなんでも、子もそのとおりにする。 | 19 Jésus reprit la parole et leur dit : « En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, le Fils ne peut rien faire de lui-même, mais seulement ce qu’il voit faire au Père : car ce que fait le Père, le Fils le fait pareillement. | 19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do : for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. |
| 父は子を愛して、御自分のなさることをすべて子に示されるからである。また、これらのことよりも大きな業を子にお示しになって、あなたたちが驚くことになる。 | 20 C’est que le Père aime le Fils et lui montre tout ce qu’il fait ; il lui montrera des œuvres plus grandes encore, de sorte que vous serez dans l’étonnement. | 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth : and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. |
| すなわち、父が死者を復活させて命をお与えになるように、子も、与えたいと思う者に命を与える。 | 21 Comme le Père, en effet, relève les morts et les fait vivre, le Fils lui aussi fait vivre qui il veut. | 21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them ; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. |
| また、父はだれをも裁かず、裁きは一切子に任せておられる。 | 22 Le Père ne juge personne, il a remis tout jugement au Fils, | 22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son : |
| すべての人が、父を敬うように、子をも敬うようになるためである。子を敬わない者は、子をお遣わしになった父をも敬わない。 | 23 afin que tous honorent le Fils comme ils honorent le Père. Celui qui n’honore pas le Fils, n’honore pas non plus le Père qui l’a envoyé. | 23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. |
| はっきり言っておく。わたしの言葉を聞いて、わたしをお遣わしになった方を信じる者は、永遠の命を得、また、裁かれることなく、死から命へと移っている。 | 24 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, celui qui écoute ma parole et croit en celui qui m’a envoyé, a la vie éternelle ; il ne vient pas en jugement, mais il est passé de la mort à la vie. | 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation ; but is passed from death unto life. |
| はっきり言っておく。死んだ者が神の子の声を聞く時が来る。今やその時である。その声を聞いた者は生きる。 | 25 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, l’heure vient - et maintenant elle est là - où les morts entendront la voix du Fils de Dieu et ceux qui l’auront entendue vivront. | 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God : and they that hear shall live. |
| 父は、御自身の内に命を持っておられるように、子にも自分の内に命を持つようにしてくださったからである。 | 26 Car, comme le Père possède la vie en lui-même, ainsi a-t-il donné au Fils de posséder la vie en lui-même ; | 26 For as the Father hath life in himself ; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself ; |
| また、裁きを行う権能を子にお与えになった。子は人の子だからである。 | 27 il lui a donné le pouvoir d’exercer le jugement parce qu’il est le Fils de l’homme. | 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. |
| 驚いてはならない。時が来ると、墓の中にいる者は皆、人の子の声を聞き、 | 28 Que tout ceci ne vous étonne plus ! L’heure vient où tous ceux qui gisent dans les tombeaux entendront sa voix, | 28 Marvel not at this : for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, |
| 善を行った者は復活して命を受けるために、悪を行った者は復活して裁きを受けるために出て来るのだ。 | 29 et ceux qui auront fait le bien en sortiront pour la résurrection qui mène à la vie ; ceux qui auront pratiqué le mal, pour la résurrection qui mène au jugement. | 29 And shall come forth ; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life ; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. |
| わたしは自分では何もできない。ただ、父から聞くままに裁く。わたしの裁きは正しい。わたしは自分の意志ではなく、わたしをお遣わしになった方の御心を行おうとするからである。」 | 30 Moi, je ne puis rien faire de moi-même : je juge selon ce que j’entends et mon jugement est juste parce que je ne cherche pas ma propre volonté, mais la volonté de celui qui m’a envoyé. | 30 I can of mine own self do nothing : as I hear, I judge : and my judgment is just ; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. |
