J’ai créé le vendredi 12 décembre 2025 une chaîne sur YouTube. Voici pourquoi.

1§ Bienvenue sur ma chaîne YouTube, The Big Picture en anglais, « La grande image » en français.

2§ Je suis le frère Franck Guyen. À 25 ans, je traversai une crise existentielle où je me posais la question du sens de ma vie, à quoi elle servait. Et une nuit, j’ai reçu une révélation qu’effectivement, ma vie avait du sens et qu’elle s’intégrait dans quelque chose de beaucoup plus grand, et beau.

3§ Un peu comme une goutte d’eau qui coule, qui coule et qui se demande : «  Mais pourquoi est-ce que je coule, pourquoi est-ce que j’obéis à la loi de la gravité ?  » Et puis, à un moment donné, elle a cette révélation qu’elle fait partie de quelque chose de plus grand, une rivière, peut-être même un fleuve, et qu’en coulant sur le granit avec des myriades d’autres gouttes d’eau qui l’ont précédée et qui la suivront, elle est en train de creuser un canyon.

4§ J’ai alors demandé le baptême dans l’Église catholique en 1986 et en 2000, je suis rentré dans l’Ordre des prêcheurs, communément appelé l’Ordre des dominicains, où depuis je creuse cette question : « Comment se fait-il que l’homme ne se satisfait pas de sa vie mais qu’il lève les yeux vers le ciel et qu’il se demande : ‘Mais qu’est-ce qu’il y a au-delà de la voûte céleste ? ’  ».

5§ J’ai passé maintenant plus de 25 ans dans l’Ordre des prêcheurs à essayer de répondre à cette question. J’ai donné des enseignements, des prédications, des accompagnements de mouvements apostoliques laïcs qui ont alimenté ce site internet et maintenant cette chaîne YouTube.

6§ C’est tout un travail de recherche qui trouvera sa réponse plus tard : la goutte d’eau a eu un commencement de réponse avec la rivière, le fleuve, il lui reste encore à découvrir la mer. C’est un peu la même chose pour nous.

1§ Welcome to my YouTube channel, The Big Picture – ‘La grande image’ in French.

2§ I am Brother Franck Guyen. At the age of 25, I went through an existential crisis during which I questioned the meaning of my life and what purpose it served. Then one night, I had a revelation that my life did indeed have meaning and that it was part of something much greater and more beautiful.

3§ A bit like a drop of water that flows and flows, wondering : “ But why am I flowing ? Why do I obey the law of gravity ? ’ And then, at a certain point, it has this realisation that it is part of something greater – a stream, perhaps even a river – and that, as it flows over the granite alongside myriads of other drops of water that have gone before it and will follow it, it is carving out a canyon.

4§ I then asked to be baptised into the Catholic Church in 1986 and, in 2000, I joined the Order of Preachers, commonly known as the Dominican Order, where ever since I have been exploring this question : “How is it that man is not satisfied with his life but looks up to the heavens and asks himself : ‘But what lies beyond the celestial vault ?’ ”.

5§ I have now spent more than 25 years in the Order of Preachers trying to answer this question. I have taught, preached and provided guidance to lay apostolic movements, all of which have contributed to this website and now this YouTube channel.

6§ It is a whole research project that will find its answer later : the drop of water has found the beginnings of an answer in the stream and the river ; it still has to discover the sea. It is much the same for us.

1§ 私の YouTube チャンネル、The Big Picture ----フランス語で「La grande image」----へようこそ。

2§ 私はフランク・ギエン兄弟と申します。25歳の時、私は存在の危機に直面し、自分の人生の意味や目的について深く問いかけました。ある夜、私の人生には確かに意味があり、それははるかに偉大で美しい何かの一部であるという啓示を受けました。

3§ まるで、ただひたすら流れ続ける一滴の水のように、「 でも、なぜ私は流れているのだろう？なぜ私は重力の法則に従うのでしょうか？ 」と。そしてある時点で、その水滴は、自分自身がより大きな何か――小川、あるいは川そのもの――の一部であり、自分より先に流れてきた、そして後に続く無数の他の水滴たちと共に花崗岩の上を流れることで、峡谷を刻み出しているのだと気づくのです。

4§ その後、1986年にカトリック教会での洗礼を受け、2000年には、一般にドミニコ会として知られる説教者修道会に入会しました。それ以来、私はこの問いを探求し続けています。「なぜ人間は自分の人生に満足せず、天を仰ぎ見て、こう自問するのでしょうか。『しかし、天の穹蒼の向こうには何があるのか？』」と自問するのでしょうか。

5§ 私はこの問いに答えようとして、説教者修道会に入会してから25年以上が経ちました。教鞭を執り、説教を行い、信徒による使徒的運動への指導を行ってきましたが、これらすべてが、このウェブサイト、そして現在のYouTubeチャンネルの構築に寄与してきました。

6§ これは、後になって答えが見つかるであろう一大研究プロジェクトです。一滴の水は、小川や川の中で答えの端緒を見出しましたが、まだ海を発見しなければなりません。私たちにとっても、それはほぼ同じことです。
