| J’entends dans l’évangile [1] une sorte de transaction. Jésus nous demande de mettre en jeu notre vie, autrement dit, ce que nous avons de plus précieux. Je veux bien perdre ma vie, mais qu’est-ce que je gagne en échange ? | 「福音書にはある種のトレードオフがあるように感じる。イエスは私たちに、自分の命――つまり、私たちが持つ最も大切なものを賭けるよう求めている。私は自分の命を失う覚悟はあるが、その見返りに何を得られるのだろうか？ | ‘I sense a kind of trade-off in the Gospel. Jesus is asking us to stake our lives – in other words, the most precious thing we have. I’m willing to lose my life, but what do I get in return ? |
| La réponse de Jésus est simple : tu perds TA vie, et en échange, tu gagnes LA vie. | イエスの答えは単純だ。自分の命を失う代わりに、その命を得るのだ。 | Jesus’s answer is simple : you lose YOUR life, and in return, you gain THE life. |

| - Ma vie, celle dont je veux être le seul maître à bord, celle que je veux contrôler, parce que je ne veux pas qu’elle m’échappe, celle où je veux aller où je veux et quand je veux. | - 私の命――私が唯一の主人でありたいと願う命、自分の手から滑り落ちないようにと支配したいと願う命、好きな時に好きな場所へ行きたいと願う命。 | - My life – the one over which I want to be the sole master, the one I want to control, because I don’t want it to slip from my grasp, the one where I want to go wherever I want, whenever I want. |
| - Ma vie, celle qui est marquée par l’avidité : avidité de jouissance corporelle, de jouissance intellectuelle - il y a une jouissance intellectuelle. La jouissance sociale aussi, celle de dominer, d’exercer le pouvoir, parce qu’on a de l’argent, parce qu’on est au sommet de la pyramide. | - 私の人生――それは貪欲に彩られたものだ。肉体的快楽への貪欲、知的快楽への貪欲――知的快楽というものは確かに存在する。社会的快楽もそうだ。支配すること、権力を行使することへの快楽。それは、お金を持っているから、あるいはピラミッドの頂点に立っているからという理由によるものだ。 | - My life – the one marked by greed : greed for physical pleasure, for intellectual pleasure – there is such a thing as intellectual pleasure. Social pleasure too, the pleasure of dominating, of exercising power, because one has money, because one is at the top of the pyramid. |
| - Ma vie est aussi marquée par la peur de la souffrance : souffrance de tomber malade, de vieillir, de mourir. Souffrance d’être en bas de l’échelle et de supporter le mépris de ceux au-dessus de moi. | - 私の人生もまた、苦しみへの恐怖に彩られている。病に倒れること、年老いること、死ぬこと――そうした苦しみだ。社会の最下層にいて、上層の人々からの軽蔑に耐えなければならないという苦しみだ。 | - My life is also marked by the fear of suffering : the suffering of falling ill, of growing old, of dying. The suffering of being at the bottom of the ladder and having to endure the contempt of those above me. |
| Ma vie, ma vie, la mienne, à moi. Une vie centrée sur moi, où le monde tourne autour de moi, où l’horizon de toute chose c’est moi, moi, et encore moi. Moi, seul, seul face au monde à qui je fais la guerre parce qu’il me résiste. Ma vie, gravitant autour d’un trou noir qui attire tout à lui sans rien laisser sortir. | 私の人生、私の人生、まさに私だけの人生だ。私を中心とした人生。世界が私の周りを回り、万物の地平線は私、私、そしてまた私である。私、ただ一人、私に対抗する世界に立ち向かい、戦いを繰り広げる。私の人生は、何も逃がさずすべてを自らへと引き寄せるブラックホールの周りを回っている。 | My life, my life, my very own. A life centred on me, where the world revolves around me, where the horizon of all things is me, me, and me again. Me, alone, alone facing the world against which I wage war because it resists me. My life, revolving around a black hole that draws everything towards itself without letting anything escape. |
| Ma vie, condamnée à tourner dans des cercles, se resserrant toujours plus jusqu’à l’effondrement final, jusqu’à l’anéantissement final, jusqu’au rien du trou noir. | 私の人生、円を描くように回り続ける運命にあり、最終的な崩壊、最終的な消滅、ブラックホールの無に至るまで、その輪はますます狭まっていく。 | My life, doomed to spin in circles, tightening ever further until the final collapse, until the final annihilation, until the nothingness of the black hole. |

| - Celle quand c’est plus fort que moi et que cela me remplit d’un bonheur pur et sans ombre, celle où je me retrouve à genoux, en train de dire, rempli d’émerveillement et de gratitude : « Mon Seigneur et mon Dieu ». | - それが私よりも強く、純粋で曇りのない幸福で私を満たしてくれる瞬間。驚嘆と感謝に満ちて、ひざまずき、「わが主、わが神」と口にする瞬間。 | - That moment when it is stronger than me and fills me with pure, unclouded happiness ; that moment when I find myself on my knees, saying, filled with wonder and gratitude : ‘My Lord and my God’. |
| - La vie, celle qui me libère de mes boucles mentales, de mes obsessions, de mes phobies, de ma peur et de mon avidité. | - 人生とは、私の思考のループや執着、恐怖症、恐れ、そして貪欲から私を解き放つものだ。 | - Life, the one that frees me from my mental loops, my obsessions, my phobias, my fear and my greed. |
| - Celle qui me réconcilie avec moi-même et avec les autres et avec le monde. | - それは、私自身と、他者と、そして世界とを和解させてくれるものだ。 | - The one that reconciles me with myself, with others and with the world. |
| La vie, celle qui ne m’appartient pas, celle qui m’est donnée en partage, celle que je partage avec d’autres. Avec, ensemble, à louer Dieu, à le servir, dans et avec la création toute entière. | 人生とは、私のものではないもの、分かち合うために私に与えられたもの、私が他者と分かち合うものだ。彼らと共に、全被造物の中で、そして全被造物と共に、神を賛美し、神に仕えるために。 | Life, the one that does not belong to me, the one that is given to me to share, the one I share with others. With them, together, to praise God, to serve Him, in and with the whole of creation. |
| La vie, gravitant autour d’un soleil, dispensant libéralement lumière et chaleur. La vie, croissant toujours plus en intensité et en extensivité, jusqu’à ressembler au soleil, jusqu’à faire partie du soleil. | 光と温もりを惜しみなく注ぐ太陽の周りを回る命。その強度と広がりを増し続け、やがて太陽に似て、太陽の一部となる命。 | Life, revolving round a sun, generously bestowing light and warmth. Life, growing ever more in intensity and scope, until it resembles the sun, until it becomes part of the sun. |
| Voilà les termes de la transaction que Jésus me propose : perdre sa vie pour gagner la vie. | これこそが、イエスが私に提示する取引の条件だ。すなわち、その命を得るために、自分の命を失うということだ。 | These are the terms of the bargain that Jesus offers me : to lose my life in order to gain the life. |
| J’entre bien dans cette image, il est vrai, très binaire, du soleil et du trou noir. Et je reconnais que ma vie tourne, certes, autour de ce trou noir, mais aussi, il ne faut pas exagérer, un peu autour du soleil. Et c’est vrai que j’ai envie de tourner seulement autour du soleil, mais comment me libérer de l’attraction du trou noir ? Comment me libérer de l’attrait pour le mal qui me traverse comme il traverse l’humanité entière depuis la faute originelle ? | 私は、この――確かに極めて二元論的な――太陽とブラックホールのイメージに確かに当てはまる。そして、私の人生が確かにこのブラックホールの周りを回っていることは認めるが、同時に――大げさに言うつもりはないが――少しばかりは太陽の周りも回っている。確かに私は太陽だけを周りたいと願っているが、どうすればブラックホールの引力から自分を解き放つことができるだろうか。堕落以来、人類全体を貫いてきたのと同じように、私の中を貫く悪の誘惑から、どうすれば自分を解き放つことができるだろうか？ | I do fit into this image—admittedly a very binary one—of the sun and the black hole. And I recognise that my life does, certainly, revolve around this black hole, but also—let’s not exaggerate—a little around the sun. And it’s true that I want to revolve solely around the sun, but how can I free myself from the black hole’s gravitational pull ? How can I free myself from the allure of evil that runs through me, just as it has run through the whole of humanity since the Fall ? |
| Et Jésus de me répondre : c’est dans la puissance de la croix que tu trouveras la force de te libérer, les extra-boosters, les propulseurs supplémentaires qui vont te permettre d’échapper à l’attraction du corps mort. | するとイエスは答えた。「十字架の力の中にこそ、自分を解き放つ力――すなわち、死体の引力から逃れることを可能にする『追加ブースター』、つまりさらなる推進力――が見出せるのだ。」 | And Jesus replied, ‘It is in the power of the cross that you will find the strength to set yourself free—the extra-boosters, the additional propulsion that will enable you to escape the pull of the dead body.’ |
| Le crois-tu ? Amen, je crois. Viens, et suis-moi. | これを信じるか？ アーメン、私は信じる。さあ、私に従って来い。 | Do you believe this ? Amen, I do. Come, and follow me. |

| それから、弟子たちに言われた。「わたしについて来たい者は、自分を捨て、自分の十字架を背負って、わたしに従いなさい。 | 24 Alors Jésus dit à ses disciples : « Si quelqu’un veut venir à ma suite, qu’il se renie lui-même et prenne sa croix, et qu’il me suive. | 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. |
| 自分の命を救いたいと思う者は、それを失うが、わたしのために命を失う者は、それを得る。 | 25 En effet, qui veut sauvegarder sa vie, la perdra ; mais qui perd sa vie à cause de moi, l’assurera. | 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it : and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. |
| 人は、たとえ全世界を手に入れても、自分の命を失ったら、何の得があろうか。自分の命を買い戻すのに、どんな代価を支払えようか。 | 26 Et quel avantage l’homme aura-t-il à gagner le monde entier, s’il le paie de sa vie ? Ou bien que donnera l’homme qui ait la valeur de sa vie ? | 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul ? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul ? |
| 人の子は、父の栄光に輝いて天使たちと共に来るが、そのとき、それぞれの行いに応じて報いるのである。 | 27 Car le Fils de l’homme va venir avec ses anges dans la gloire de son Père ; et alors il rendra à chacun selon sa conduite. | 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels ; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. |
| はっきり言っておく。ここに一緒にいる人々の中には、人の子がその国と共に来るのを見るまでは、決して死なない者がいる。」 | 28 En vérité, je vous le déclare, parmi ceux qui sont ici, certains ne mourront pas avant de voir le Fils de l’homme venir comme roi. » | 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. |
